What to Do When Those Really Bad Spots HappenYou know which ones I'm talking about. If you have
kids or pets then you definitely know what I'm talking about. These are "Sick Spots".Sick spots are some of the worst carpet issues I come across. The reason
for this is that the pH of these issues is very acidic and nylon carpet fibers are very receptive to acidic stains. It's actually
how nylon carpets are dyed during the manufacturing process. What to Do When They HappenFirst, remove
as much of the solid material as possible. Spoons help but wet/dry vacuums work much better. You want to avoid pushing
anything into the carpet fiber. Second, depending
on the severity of the situation, the affected area may need professional cleaning. If that's the case, call me at 704-341-1717
immediately. If the liquid did not penetrate that far into the carpet fiber you may have success removing the remaining
material by using club soda. Store bought carpet cleaners may work but commonly leave a residue and can possibly set
stains so use with caution. Never use multiple cleaners as this almost always sets stains or causes unwanted discolorations.
